Original Version for Piano Four Hands with Text from Shakespeare/Schlegel, reduction by Lena Becker.

A Kabinettoper Production with Samira Hempel as Puck, Julia Maria Kähne as Oberon, Nina Schulze as Titania and Clara Solecki, Marcela Lopez, Julia Schuhmacher and Paula Rohde as Fairies, Direction by Sven Jenkel and Lea Fink, Photography Projection by Maria Einert.

Music from the Ballet arranged for Two Pianos by Mikhail Pletnev, with the story by Brothers Grimm as told by Samira Hempel.

Wang-Pedersen Ensemble

Double the Fun

The Wang-Pedersen Ensemble is a new ensemble project created by Danish twin sisters Kirstine Elise Pedersen and Karen Johanne Pedersen and Taiwanese- American twin sisters Susan Wang and Sarah Wang.

With Kirstine on cello, Karen on violin, Susan and Sarah as pianists, the four friends have joined musical forces to create exciting fun combinations of duos and trios, offering programs consisting of repertoire ranging from Brahms to Ravel, Beethoven to contemporary music.

The two pairs of twins look forward to exploring and sharing a variety of chamber music together while touring Denmark, Germany, and America, among other countries.

This piece for four hands can be performed on one or two pianos and is inspired by a cross-country journey Sven made in the United States in the summer of 2011. “Road Trip for Two Pianists” may be found on our debut CD recording.

“Su” for Two Pianos (2009)

This piece is based on “Allegro Brillant” Op. 92, a piece for Piano Four Hands by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.

The work was premiered at the Mendelssohn Music Festival in Rostock in the summer of 2009.
